Body Armor Breakdown

*Updated* The CVR type Body Armor: This body armor is very flexible and can be custom tailored to fit anyone within the REF/Sentinel forces. Below are the descriptions of the different CVR Body Armors. It is standard item issued to all Cyclone Veritech riders and Alpha pilots. In addition to its mega-damage protection and self- contained environmental capabilities (it's just like a spacesuit when the helmet is sealed,) the body armor is an integral part of the cyclone veritech system. The body armor is designed with special connectors and braces where the cyclone attaches itself to its battloid operator. Without the body armor, the VR-motorcycle can not convert into battloid mode. That means a pilot with no CVR-3 body armor can not use the battloid aspect of the mecha until he/she finds some CVR body armor. Southern Cross or old RDF armor can not be substituted. Until the CVR body armor is obtained, the character can only use the cyclone as a souped-up combat motorcycle. This body armor has inter-locking connections to use the cyclone, without any type of armor the cyclone would crush and kill the pilot during the transformation sequence.

Despite stylistic differences, all of the CVR-Body Armors have the same basic properties:

  • Laser resistant ceramics (lasers do 1/2 damage).
  • Complete Environmental Battle Armor (E.B.A.) suitable for use in space and other hostile environments.
  • Computer controlled life support system.
  • Internal cooling and temperature control. Humidifier.
  • Gas filtering and artificial circulation.
  • Independent oxygen supply and purge system which automatically engages in low oxygen or polluted environments. Eight hour oxygen supply, maximum.
  • Insulated, high temperature resistant weave of nylon, synthetic, fibers, and metal mesh.
  • Fire resistant up to 300 degrees centigrade. Normal fires do no damage, but plasma and nuclear fires have full effect.
  • Radiation shielded. Helmet with removable face plate.
  • Directional, short-range radio built into the helmet. Range is 8 miles.
  • Tinted Helmet Visor. The pilot can tint the visor or it will tint itself if there is an explosion or intense bright light (such as sunlight).
  • Utility belt/holster can hold up to 16 full stock gallant clips.
CVR-1 Body Armor Was designed for the technicians. This lighter weight body armor would allow these people to do there sensitive tasks. These armors were not designed for cyclone riders, therefore this body armor is incompatible with the cyclone. Even though these were designed on the various bases in space, they were not actually used until April 2042.

M.D.C. by Location:
Head -- 20
Face Plate -- 20
Arms (2) -- 15 each
Hands (2) -- 5 each
Legs (2) -- 35 each
Main Body (Chest & Trunk) -- 25

Depleting the MDC of any of these areas will expose the S.D.C. Pilot and/or limbs. At this point either the pilot will die or be severely injured.

Weight: 8 pounds. Excellent mobility, no prowl penalty. Black Market Cost: 25,000 credits (on Earth).

NOTE: This body armor is a lighter armor and not designed for the cyclone.
CVR-2 Body Armor were designed for the technicians. This lighter weight body armor would allow these people to do there sensitive tasks. These armors were not designed for cyclone riders, therefore this body armor is incompatible with the cyclone. Even though these were designed on the various bases in space, they were not actually used until April 2042.

M.D.C. by Location:
Head -- 30
Face Plate -- 30
Arms (2) -- 25 each
Hands (2) -- 15 each
Legs (2) -- 60 each
Main Body (Chest & Trunk) -- 60

Depleting the MDC of any of these areas will expose the S.D.C. Pilot and/or limbs. At this point either the pilot will die or be severely injured.

Weight: 16 pounds. Good mobility, -10% prowl penalty. Black Market Cost: 50,000 credits (on Earth). NOTE: This body armor is a lighter armor and not designed for the cyclone.
CVR-3 Body Armor is a durable, lightweight blend of metal alloys and ceramics. This is standard issue for all pilots.

M.D.C. by Location:
Head -- 50
Face Plate -- 50
Arms (2) -- 50 each
Hands (2) -- 25 each
Legs (2) -- 100 each
Main Body (Chest & Trunk) -- 200

Depleting the MDC of any of these areas will expose the S.D.C. Pilot and/or limbs. At this point either the pilot will die or be severely injured.

Weight: 25 pounds. Prowl Impossible in body armor. Black Market Cost: 75,000 credits (on Earth).

CVR-3B Body Armor this was designed for the VR-038 "lite" Cyclone. Rook's type.

M.D.C. by Location:
Head -- 45
Face Plate -- 50
Arms (2) -- 45 each
Hands (2) -- 25 each
Legs (2) -- 85 each
Main Body (Chest & Trunk) -- 150

Depleting the MDC of any of these areas will expose the S.D.C. Pilot and/or limbs. At this point either the pilot will die or be severely injured.

Weight: 20 pounds. Fair mobility, -20% prowl penalty. Black Market Cost: 50,000 credits (on Earth).
NOTE: This body armor is a lighter armor and was designed for the VR-038 "lite" cyclone.

CVR-3C Body Armor this is exactly like the CVR-3 body Armor. This armor was designed to go with the reconnaissance type cyclones.

M.D.C. by Location:
Head -- 20
Face Plate -- 25
Arms (2) -- 25 each
Hands (2) -- 10 each
Legs (2) -- 50 each
Main Body (Chest & Trunk) -- 50

Depleting the MDC of any of these areas will expose the S.D.C. Pilot and/or limbs. At this point either the pilot will die or be severely injured.

Weight: 15 pounds. Good mobility, -10% prowl penalty. Black Market Cost: 50,000 credits (on Earth).

CVR-3D Body Armor this is exactly like the CVR-3 body Armor, except more armor has been added for extra protection. This is compatible with cyclones, but reduce all speeds by 20%, -2 to attacks, parry, dodge and roll due to the extra weight of the armor.

M.D.C. by Location:
Head -- 75
Face Plate -- 60
Arms (2) -- 75 each
Hands (2) -- 30 each
Legs (2) -- 150 each

Depleting the MDC of any of these areas will expose the S.D.C. Pilot and/or limbs. At this point either the pilot will die or be severely injured.

Weight: 65 pounds. Prowl Impossible in body armor. Black Market Cost: 500,000 credits (on Earth).

CVR-3E Body Armor was designed for the Bio-Maintenance Engineers who need to be able to do delicate work in hostile environments.

M.D.C. by Location:

CVR-4 Body Armor There is only one known suit on the planet Earth. It belongs to the 2nd in command of the new Resistance Force. This Body Armor was designed to go with the prototype cyclone known as the glass cyclone and has the same properties as the glass cyclone in that it is 100% laser resistant.
